You know I myself get extremely uncomfortable in "mega-markets" and malls are even worse. I have some unreasonable fear of large enclosed spaces (Sports super domes for example). This is somewhat ironic as I consider myself very much a city person and dis like living in "small town" enviroments however at the same time I love vast, empty open places such as the dessert (The Yuma is my favorite) or at sea. I crave the company of the the thousands of strangers you find in metropolitan populations and the lonelyness of certain geographies...It's a dicatomy (I'm sure I goofed the spelling on that one) but true.
